About Me

I am Shi QIU (邱实). Currently, I am working as a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). I am also affiliated with CUHK’s Institute of Medical Intelligence and XR, led by Prof. Pheng Ann Heng. Previously, I obtained my PhD degree from ANU (with Data61-CSIRO), under the supervision of Dr. Saeed Anwar and Prof. Nick Barnes.

My current research focuses on 3D vision, visualization, human computer interaction, etc. I mainly explore these techniques with AI and Extended Reality (XR), especially for their applications in medical study.

For PhD/MPhil/RA applicants: I currently do not have a clear plan for the 2026 intakes, thus may not respond actively to general inquiries.

For CUHK students: my student consultation hours are from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM every Tuesday.
